Wild life can be spotted around the cottage, however most Tasmanian animals are nocturnal and you may need to go out with a torch at night to see of them. To see more, visit Wing’s Wildlife Park, just 15 minutes’ drive in the picturesque valley of Gunns Plains.
Birds: Blue Wren, Fan Tails, Kookaburra, Magpies, Black Cockatoos, Spur Wing Plovers and Sulphur Crested Cockatoos can be heard heading for their night roost along the Leven River
Animals: Bettongs, Wild Rabbits, Blue Tongue Lizard, Snakes (that like to be near water, like the dam,)
Brush Tail Possums that sometimes can be heard scuttling on the roof and on hot summer days, the Echidna (spiky ant eaters).
